School Fundraiser

Albany Bowl takes great pride in it's community. We strive to make our Bowling Center a Fun and Exciting place where friends and family can get together. Albany Bowl enjoys giving back to the community. We donate over 500 bowling parties to schools and different charities every year. Each Bowling party is valued at $140.00. The Bowling parties are usually auctioned off at different fundraiser events. Even with donating these wonderfull parties we felt that we could do more. Thats when the staff here at Albany Bowl came with the idea of a Bowling fundraiser event. We tested it out with a few schools and it was a huge success.

Here is how it works:

The School will pass out flyers to all of their students inviting them, their families and friends to a Bowling Event. (We would be happy to make you a master flyer that you just copy) Those that are interested buys a ticket at a minnimal cost. The ticket is good for 2 games of bowling and shoe rental for the ticket holder only. The date and time the ticket is good for is worked out between the school and Mike richards at Albany Bowl.

The day of the scheduled event each person who bought a ticket just turns it in at the counter at Albany Bowl. Towards the end of the event the Desk personal will count all of the tickets and write out the bill for the school. The bill is to be paid in full then within a few days Albany Bowl will cut a check for 50% of what was collected. The check will then be mailed to the School P.T.A.

So for example: A school sells tickets for $12.00 each. Lets say 60 students, family and friends buy a ticket. Thats $720.00 out of that 50% goes to the Bowling Center and 50% goes back to the school. Thats $360.00 in a single fundraiser event. Not to bad for a single event.

During our trial school events we asked some people why they thought that a Bowling Fundraiser was a good idea. We received many reasons why like:

It was a great way for the families to get together in a social setting, meeting other families from their school.

Some said they don't feel comfortable with their kids selling things to strangers and the family can only buy so much wrapping paper. Their family and friends were much more willing to buy tickets to an event that they could attend and have fun.

If this sounds like something your school might be interested in, Just contact your schools P.T.A. Have one of them contact Mike Richards at Albany Bowl (510)526-8818. He would be happy to explain in more detail how this works.

We look forward to hearing from you and helping your school raise money.
